oil spill

This is an onion that Mary planted. She took the very top portion of an onion and planted it. Can you see it? Here is a little help.

It looks to be doing pretty good.

I was thinking about that oil spill in the gulf. The oil is making its way down the west coast of Florida and will eventually reach Tampa which has a desalination plant to supply its fresh water. The sea water is pumped in from the ocean and through filtration, fresh water is created. I wonder if the oil will foul the filters in the plant. If they were to shut the plant down, where would the replacement fresh water come from? Would they ever be able to start the plant up again? A lot of questions and a lot of problems. Have a nice day.
